Mental Health Nurse

Hi my name is Robin Syred and I am the Primary Care Mental Health Nurse based within your GP practice. My role is to provide support and guidance to individuals whose mental well being is not at its best.

So how do I do that I hear you ask, well I have a range of tools, coping strategies, resources and skills. I am a qualified mental health nurse.

My belief is about empowerment and giving you the skills, knowledge etc to manage your own mental well being. I have also at times had not so good mental well being so I have empathy as to how you may be feeling at present. I would encourage you to speak to myself. I offer sessions to deliver short term intervention work. I do not offer counselling but I can refer you to other services who can offer extra help.

In my role as Primary Care Mental Health Nurse I focus on mental well being. If you have good mental wellbeing you are able to:

  • feel relatively confident in yourself and have positive self-esteem
  • feel and express a range of emotions
  • build and maintain good relationships with others
  • feel engaged with the world around you
  • live and work productively
  • cope with the stresses of daily life
  • adapt and manage in times of change and uncertainty. Common life events that can affect your mental wellbeing include:
