MEDICINES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Wasted or unused medicines cost the NHS an estimated £300 million every year. When medicines leave the pharmacy they cannot be recycled, reused by anyone else. Those which are wasted are all destroyed.
Throughout the month of January we will be asking patients to complete a questionnaire relating to medication usage and how you dispose of unwanted medication.
We now have two practice phlebotomists(staff who are trained in taking bloods) who will be running clinics in the practice. If you require your blood to be taken please call or drop in to make an appointment.
If you are aged between 50 to 74 you will receive a bowel cancer screening kit every 2 years. It is very important that you complete and return this test. This simple test can detect bowel cancer at an early stage. If its detected early enough there's a 9 out of 10 chance of beating it. You should complete the test even if you've had no symptoms and feel fine. Please visit ww.bowelscreening.scot.nhs.uk/ for more information.
The FAMILY NURSE PARTNERSHIP is a new preventative programme offered to young mothers (19 years and under), and their families, having their first baby. It begins in early pregnancy and is orientated towards the future health and well being of the child. For more information click here .
